I came across a fascinating news story from the ‘Independent’ about how researchers from the University of Sheffield and the Centre for Astrobiology at the University of Buckingham claim that they have found evidence of ‘particulate matter’ in the Earth’s stratosphere.
Professor Milton Wainwright, head of the team,, claims that the biological entity was ‘like nothing found on Earth.’
He added that there was no contamination and the only possible explanation for the presence of this particulate matter was that ‘they must be incoming from space.’
A few weeks earlier Russian scientists discovered traces of marine life on the outside of the International Space Station.
The scientists found small plankton and their discovery is the first time that complex organism have been observed in outer space.
These two unexpected findings may give strong support to the Panspermia hypothesis favoured by Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe which I discuss in my forthcoming book ‘Alien Arrival: Salvation or Destruction?’
